Job summary

Mainz Brady Group is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support server, storage and networking deployments in a high-performance data center environment. You should have 2+ years of rack and stack experience, strong knowledge of rack layouts, structured cabling, PDUs, and enterprise servers from Dell, HPE or similar.

You will follow deployment runbooks, perform basic hardware validation, maintain accurate asset documentation, and collaborate with Data Center Engineers and Network teams

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in rack environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, and cable installations for servers, storage, networking, and compute systems.
• Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and maintain proper airflow and cable management.
• Connect and verify power, fiber, and copper network cabling according to deployment standards.
• Support hardware moves, adds, and changes (MACs) across data center floors.
• Follow deployment runbooks and engineering documentation.
• Conduct basic hardware validation, LED/port checks, and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset tracking, labeling, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Center Engineers and Network teams during deployments and migrations.
• Adhere to all ESD, safety and security protocols.
• Assist with decommissioning and removal of end-of-life hardware.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician with experience in rack & stack deployments, structured cabling, and enterprise hardware installation. This role will support server, storage, and networking deployments in a high-performance data center environment.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on data center experience performing rack & stack work
• Strong understanding of:
• Server and network rack layouts
• Structured cabling (fiber and copper)
• Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
• Experience installing enterprise servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar)
• Ability to read rack elevation diagrams and deployment documentation
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in rack environments
• Familiar with ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive hardware
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale or high-density compute data centers
• Exposure to GPU, AI/ML, or high-performance computing environments
• Knowledge of hot aisle / cold aisle containment best practices
• Experience supporting large hardware refreshes or migrations
• Basic Linux familiarity (helpful but not required)
