Job summary

SOS Children's Villages USA is seeking an Interim Grant Writer to join the Programs & Partnerships Team, researching grant opportunities, writing compelling proposals, and raising funds for international programs that support children without parental care worldwide.

The role focuses on prospecting, LOIs and full proposals, aiming at multi-million-dollar revenue. It is a five-month assignment (Nov 2026–Mar 15, 2027) with remote or DC office work and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 5-years of demonstrated record of successful grant writing and securing fundraising six to seven figures.
• Compelling writing skills with storytelling and data analysis to produce succinct summaries.
• Understanding of donor market tools and trends; willingness to research markets internationally.
• Ability to self-manage in a fully remote work setting with strong planning and deadlines.
• Knowledge of SOS Children's Villages or similar international nonprofit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and submit grant proposals, SOIs, LOIs, and concept notes to engage funders.
• Research and outreach to prospective partners and donors.
• Manage funder search platforms and update pipelines weekly.
• Demonstrate technical expertise in donor prospects and leverage contacts.
• Coordinate with teams to gather inputs for proposals.
• Utilize AI as a productivity multiplier to streamline prospect research.
• Provide systems improvement ideas as needed.
• Available full-time November 2026 – March 2027.
• Other duties as assigned.
