Job summary

Activate Global is seeking a Government Relations Associate to support fundraising, policy advocacy, and positioning with federal and state governments. You will work with the Government Relations Director and cross-functional partners to advance Activate’s objectives.

Candidates based in Washington, DC or Boston, MA are strongly preferred, with a hybrid/remote setup and occasional travel for events and programs.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, policy, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, communications, or related field.
• Strong interest in public affairs and government relations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to research information and prepare collateral and other correspondence.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Hubspot, Asana, and Airtable is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify federal and state funding opportunities and support proposals and reports.
• Manage Activate’s CRM and government contacts database.
• Assist in government relations events and logistics.
• Coordinate with government relations firms and track meetings.
• Research opportunities for government engagement and committees.
• Connect Fellows with congressional and agency staff.
• Monitor and analyze legislation and executive orders at federal level.
• Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.
