Job summary

Governors Action Alliance (GovAct) seeks a savvy, well‑organized Program Associate to support the Governors Public Health Alliance (PHA). The role focuses on administrative, operational, and project support, reporting to the Managing Director, while ensuring efficient, professional execution in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in nonprofits, government, law, policy, communications, public relations, media relations, or related field beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑level administrative support including calendars, meetings, travel, and reimbursements.
• Prepare for meetings with agendas, background docs, and logistics; take notes and track next steps.
• Draft communications and weekly newsletters in coordination with the strategic communications team.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, consultants, and funders; manage email and generic PHA inbox.
• Assist with database management, reporting deadlines, and event logistics; support new projects.
