Job summary

Aether Bio is actively seeking a Government Programs Manager to lead non-dilutive funding efforts, DoD and DoE opportunities, and SBIR/STTR activities. This role emphasizes building partnerships, managing capture, and coordinating proposals across technical, operations, and leadership teams.

Remote-first with periodic travel (approx. 30-40%), you will report to the Head of Commercial and work with DoD accounts, industry consortia, and government programs to accelerate strategic funding for our

Qualifications

• 6+ years in federal business development, capture management, or grants/proposal management focused on DoD/DoE.
• Track record of winning SBIR/STTR or other federal non-dilutive funding.
• Knowledge of OTAs, BAAs, cooperative agreements and FAR/DFARS basics.
• Established relationships within the DoD ecosystem (S&T or manufacturing innovation).
• Strong writing and editing skills, including hands-on proposal work.
• Experience owning a sales cycle with government end users.
• Bachelor’s degree; technical/public policy background a plus.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% for meetings and events.
• U.S. citizenship or security clearance eligibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Grow key DoD accounts and manage sales cycle from lead to close.
• Manage opportunity pipeline across SAM.gov, SBIR/STTR portals, and consortia.
• Lead capture and proposals for DoD/DoE grants, BAAs, OTAs, and related funding.
• Develop win strategies and teaming with primes, labs, and academic partners.
• Represent the company at industry and government events.
• Coordinate content with technical, operations, and leadership teams.
• Support post-award execution including compliance reporting.
