Job summary

Aether Bio is seeking a Government Programs Manager to own the company’s pipeline of non-dilutive government funding and direct DoD sales. You will identify and win DoD/DoE grant and contract opportunities, and lead SBIR/STTR activity end to end while aligning with our commercial roadmap.

You’ll work closely with our technical, product, and finance teams, build capture strategies, and develop teaming with primes, labs, and academic partners. Travel ~30–40% and report to Head of Commercial.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of federal business development, capture management, or grants/proposal management.
• Track record of winning SBIR/STTR awards or other federal non-dilutive funding.
• Knowledge of OTAs, BAAs, cooperative agreements, and FAR/DFARS basics.
• Existing relationships within the DoD acquisition, S&T, or manufacturing ecosystem.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including proposal writing/editing.
• Comfort owning a sales cycle with DoD or government end users.
• Bachelor’s degree required; technical/public policy background is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Grow DoD accounts; manage sales cycle from lead to close.
• Manage opportunity pipeline across SAM.gov, SBIR portals, America Makes, NCDMM.
• Lead capture and proposal efforts for DoD/DoE grants, BAAs, OTAs.
• Develop winning capture strategies and teaming arrangements.
• Represent the company at industry and government events.
• Coordinate proposal content with technical, operations, and leadership teams.
• Support post‑award execution with finance and program management.
