Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Operations Manager, Government Grants to provide operational coordination for federal grant programs across the grant lifecycle. This full-time, remote-friendly role reports to the National Government Funding Director and supports PIs and implementation teams on government awards.

Responsibilities include budget planning, expense reviews, compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and NIH policies, and coordination with finance, HR, and program teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of financial systems, journal entries, and expense management.
• Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and NIH policies.
• Knowledge of federal grantors such as CDC, HRSA, and NIH.
• Experience in project management in compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Expense review and invoice processing to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Coordinate prior approval requests and compliance with award terms.
• Support budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting aligned with funding needs.
• Assist with personnel allocations, salary distribution, and effort documentation.
• Coordinate contractors and subrecipients' documentation and monitoring.
• Draft reports and track milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
• Process cost transfers, reallocations, and ensure proper approvals.
• Maintain audit-ready project files and closeout documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
