Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Operations Manager, Government Grants to coordinate grant activities across the lifecycle for federal awards, reporting to the National Government Funding Director.

This full-time, benefits-eligible role offers flexible, home-based work and a chance to support PIs, finance, and program teams in budgeting, compliance, and deliverable tracking to advance critical health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of federal grant requirements and cost principles.
• Familiarity with NIH, CDC, and HRSA grant mechanisms.
• Experience with budget development and financial accounting.

Responsibilities

• Review expenses, invoices, and ensure timely processing.
• Coordinate pre-approval and compliance with award terms.
• Support budget planning, monitoring, and adjustments.
• Assist with personnel allocations and effort documentation.
• Coordinate subrecipient and contractor documentation and monitoring.
• Draft and track program communications, milestones, and deliverables.
• Support cost transfers and closeout activities.
• Maintain audit-ready project files and records.
