Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking an Operations Manager, Government Grants to provide operational coordination and support to PIs and implementation teams for federal government grants across the grant lifecycle. This full-time, grant-funded role offers flexible, home-based work with potential extension beyond July 31, 2027.

Reporting to the National Government Funding Director, you will manage budgets, cost transfers, and documentation to ensure compliance and successful project

Qualifications

• Understanding of financial systems, journal entries, and expense management.
• Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and NIH policies.
• Knowledge of federal grantors such as CDC, HRSA, and NIH.
• Experience in project management in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Expense Review with project leads to ensure expenses and invoices are accurate and submitted promptly.
• Prior approval requests and compliance coordination with Finance, Legal, or OFP partners.
• Budget planning, monitoring, forecasting, revisions, and justification drafting.
• Personnel and compensation documentation in partnership with Finance, HR, and OFP.
• Subrecipient and contractor coordination including forms, invoicing, and monitoring.
• Communication, reporting, and deliverable tracking with program teams.
• Cost transfers and expense reallocations with approvals and proper documentation.
• Records management and closeout support with audit-ready files and retention.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
