Job summary

Ipas is seeking a Senior Medical Scientist to provide technical leadership in safe abortion, contraception, and GBV care quality across humanitarian contexts. The role focuses on evidence-based tools, standards, and partnerships to strengthen abortion ecosystems globally.

The position involves training, external representation, and dissemination of findings through publications and conferences, with travel up to 20% and remote work options in multiple contexts.

Qualifications

10+ years in clinical practice incl. reproductive health
Experience evaluating quality in clinical care
Knowledge of international SRHR programs in low-resource settings
Familiar with key partners and field influencers
PhD/DrPH or significant research experience
Proficiency in at least one Ipas working language
Travel up to 20% internationally

Responsibilities

Provide and analyze evidence-based content for advocacy on safe abortion.
Develop technical tools translating clinical updates into health services.
Lead quality/regulatory processes for the MVA product line.
Support training of sites and partners on content like VCAT and trauma-informed care.
Disseminate evidence via publications and conferences; build partnerships.
