Job summary

somewhere seeks a Director of People Operations & Global Talent to build and own the HR function for a growing portfolio of U.S.-client companies. This remote, full-time IC role reports to a Partner and includes a performance bonus and health/internet stipends.

The candidate will establish offshore hiring, payroll coordination with ADP, and comprehensive HR policies across entities, with a focus on compliance, culture, and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Strong U.S.-client HR experience.
• Good understanding of U.S. HR compliance and counsel coordination.
• Fully responsible for offshore recruiting lifecycle.
• Near-native English written and spoken.
• Ability to design and document HR processes and policies.
• Backs recommendations with data and benchmarks.
• Active use of AI tools in daily work.
• Committed to U.S. business hours with reliable connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate U.S. HR compliance across portfolio companies.
• Own HR administration including handbooks, onboarding/offboarding, policies.
• Maintain escalation playbook and engage counsel when needed.
• Partner with payroll provider and counsel on payroll and legal matters.
