Local Foreigner, LLC, a boutique travel consultancy in New York, seeks an HR Manager to own the full people function for employees and remote contractors. You’ll lead recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, policy development, and compliance, partnering with leadership to support growth and culture.

In this hands-on role, you’ll build scalable HR processes, maintain confidential records, manage a PEO relationship, and advise managers on performance and development while upholding Local

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience, full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, and compliance.
• Experience managing a PEO relationship (Justworks or similar).
• Confidential handling of sensitive employee matters.

Responsibilities

• Own the full employee and contractor lifecycle: recruiting, offers, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Draft and maintain HR policies and employee handbook; ensure clear communication and compliance.
• Develop and manage the annual HR plan including benefits, compensation, and programs.
• Maintain HR systems and provide accurate reporting to leadership.
• Lead annual performance and compensation reviews; provide coaching on performance conversations.
