ABB GIS Commissioning Engineer in the United States leads the commissioning of medium-voltage GIS and RMU systems, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with IEEE, IEC and ANSI standards. You will deliver detailed work plans, assist with FAT/IFAT, and coordinate with customers and internal ABB teams from a remote US base.

This role offers on-going growth, opportunities to mentor junior engineers, and frequent collaboration with project teams across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of commissioning and field engineering experience.
• Strong experience with ABB GIS (ZX Portfolio) and RMU (SafeRing / SafePlus).
• Experience with ABB Protection & Control platforms (ZEE600, SSC600, PCM600).
• Knowledge of generator paralleling systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Proficient technical writing skills for commissioning documentation.
• Ability to travel 40-50%.

Responsabilités

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems per ABB standards and IEEE/IEC/ANSI requirements.
• Create commissioning work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support execution and manage commissioning through energization and customer acceptance.
• Support FAT and IFAT activities.
• Interface with customers, EPCs, utilities, and ABB teams.
• Identify commissioning risks and lead mitigation actions.
• Support contract managers with technical input on scope and claims.
• Perform site visits to support commissioning teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
