Job summary

ABB GIS Commissioning Engineer in the United States leads the commissioning of GIS and RMU systems, ensuring safety, accuracy, and conformance to IEEE/IEC/ANSI standards. This role sits at the center of complex customer projects with strong onsite leadership and technical documentation responsibilities.

You will create work plans, perform FAT/IFAT support, interface with customers, EPCs, utilities, and internal ABB teams, and mentor junior engineers while traveling 40–50% to sites across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of commissioning and field engineering experience.
• Strong experience with ABB GIS and RMU systems; familiarity with ABB protection & control platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems per standards and IEEE/IEC/ANSI requirements.
• Create commissioning work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support energization, acceptance, FAT/IFAT, and customer interfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and support contract-related technical input.
• Travel to sites and perform site visits as needed.
