Job summary

ABB is seeking a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of GIS and RMU systems in a remote US role. You will develop work plans, risk assessments, and procedures, and collaborate with customers, EPCs, utilities, and internal ABB teams to ensure successful energization and acceptance.

You will engage in FAT/IFAT support, travel up to 40–50%, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to ABB’s data center services and excellence in the US market.

Qualifications

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems according to standards and IEEE/IEC/ANSI requirements.
• Create commissioning work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support execution and manage commissioning through energization and customer acceptance.
• Support FAT and IFAT.
• Interface with customers, EPCs, utilities, and ABB teams.
• Identify commissioning risks and lead mitigation actions.
• Support contract managers with technical input on scope and claims.
• Perform site visits to support commissioning teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
