Job summary

ABB GIS Commissioning Engineer role in the United States focuses on leading the commissioning of GIS and RMU systems, ensuring safety and high technical standards. You will coordinate with customers, EPCs, utilities, and ABB teams to deliver successful projects and maintain customer confidence.

This remote-in-US position reports to the Site Operations Manager and includes travel up to 40-50%, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to project execution from initiation through energization

Qualifications

• Bachelor in EE or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in commissioning and field engineering.
• Experience with ABB GIS (ZX Portfolio) and RMU.
• Willing to travel 40-50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems per ABB standards and IEEE/IEC/ANSI requirements.
• Create work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support execution through energization and customer acceptance.
• Support FAT/IFAT testing and interface with customers and ABB teams.
• Identify risks and lead mitigation actions.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
