Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership within our mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting practice. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across North America, with remote or office locations and periodic travel.

You will build and manage geochemical characterization programs, predictive modeling, and biogeochemical treatment projects while mentoring staff and growing client

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Geochemistry, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mining geochemistry or environmental consulting
• Demonstrated expertise in managing technical consulting projects
• Excellent technical writing, verbal, and presentation abilities
• Professional Geologist (PG/P.Geo) registration or ability to obtain
• Experience conducting or overseeing predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects
• Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste and water
• Interpret geochemical datasets across environmental and hydrogeological contexts
• Conduct and oversee predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies
• Prepare and review technical reports and client deliverables
• Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue new opportunities
• Ensure safety and quality across projects
