Job summary

RESPEC seeks an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership within mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting. Open to candidates in the U.S. and Canada, with remote flexibility and periodic travel to client sites and conferences.

You will lead geochemical characterization, modeling, and biogeochemical treatment projects, mentoring staff and shaping technical directions across North America.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Geochemistry, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mining geochemistry or environmental consulting.
• Professional Geologist registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience leading complex technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong writing, verbal and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: design and oversee geochemical characterization programs for mining projects.
• Project Management: run projects from initiation to completion within scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Business Development: pursue opportunities with existing and prospective mining clients; support proposals.
• Mentor and develop geochemists and scientists across disciplines.
• Collaborate with mine water, tailings, and environmental teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance across projects.
