Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced geochemist to provide technical leadership within our mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry practice. The role supports North American projects and can be remote or based in office locations. Periodic travel is required to serve clients, conferences, and field activities.

You will lead geochemical characterization programs, predictive modeling, and multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring staff and delivering innovative solutions that advance our services.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Geochemistry, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of mining geochemistry or environmental consulting experience.
• Professional Geologist (PG/P.Geo) registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience managing technical consulting projects.
• Experience with predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling.
• Strong client management and business development skills.
• Excellent technical writing, verbal, and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects.
• Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste and biogeochemical processes.
• Interpret geochemical, environmental, hydrogeological, and biogeochemical datasets.
• Conduct predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies.
• Lead design, construction, and interpretation of laboratory testing programs.
• Review technical analyses and deliverables from junior staff.
• Prepare technical reports and client deliverables.
• Ensure technical quality and consistency across projects.
• Contribute to industry advancement through publications and presentations.
• Manage projects from initiation through completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
