Job summary

National Power, LLC in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to lead and supervise service operations for customers and service teams. You will train, direct, and develop a group of technicians who startup, service, and repair industrial generators and related equipment.

The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership, safety oversight, and quality control, including field support, mentoring, and coordinating preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Generac Master Technician certification required.
• Strong switchgear expertise and technical background.
• Excellent English communication and customer service.
• Ability to lead a field service team and coordinate activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territory.
• Evaluate performance, coach, and develop training programs.
• Provide field support and mentorship to technicians.
• Partner with leadership to resolve performance issues and staffing needs.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring of field technicians.
• Serve as first point of contact for field support and emergency repair.
• Conduct preventive and emergency maintenance, startup, and repairs on generators.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with protocols.
• Implement QC procedures and document results.
• Support planning, quoting, and project execution.
