Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Technical Operations Support Specialist I to deliver high-quality technical support for General Ledger applications. This fully remote US role requires addressing escalated issues for clients and internal teams, with a strong focus on clear communication and practical guidance.

You will troubleshoot software functionality, payroll transmission, installation errors, time and labor discrepancies, payroll tax questions, network issues, and database problems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a customer service role; help desk/technical support preferred.
• Intermediate MS Office skills, especially Excel with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• PC hardware/software experience including installation, maintenance, and end-user training.
• Ability to learn new software and continue learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support by troubleshooting software/hardware issues using remote tools.
• First point of contact for clients/internal inquiries via cases, emails, and calls.
• Assist in modification of items (Time off Accruals, Time and Attendance, Tax Items, ACA, GL, Reporting, Custom Calculations, security requests).
• Document all interactions through lifecycle and identify recurring issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and improve software performance.
• Share knowledge and support team learning across the organization.
• Use Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) to manage and analyze data.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users.
• Represent the team in client interactions, events, and meetings.
• Remain flexible to business needs, including varying shifts and project support.
• Continuously build expertise in applications and ensure quality and performance standards.
