Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer – Front End Web Application to contribute to the Budget and Spend (BAS) solution. This remote role supports a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

You will build interactive UI components using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and SAP Analytics Cloud tooling, review designs, optimize front‑end performance, and collaborate with a cross‑functional team to deliver scalable web applications.

Qualifications

• - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent job experience.
• - 2 years of software engineering experience across front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS).
• - Understanding of JavaScript and its intricacies.
• - Knowledge of REST APIs and experience creating/consuming APIs.
• - Experience in OO/Design, Web Development and debugging.
• - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• - Strong programming skills.
• - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance.
• - Public Trust required; U.S. citizenship to maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• - Build enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAC Analytics Cloud or other web technologies such as JavaScript.
• - Review application requirements and interface designs.
• - Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• - Monitor and improve front-end performance.
• - Document application changes and updates.
• - Provide feedback on UI/UX feasibility.
• - Optimize web applications for scalability and speed.
• - Participate in code reviews and communicate with team members.
