Job summary

Vessel Advisors is seeking a remote Controller with deep construction industry expertise to lead multi-client financial operations and month-end close processes. You will own financial discovery, budgeting, forecasting, WIP, and project-level reporting while coordinating with client teams and outsourced partners in a fractional capacity.

This role requires 8+ years in control roles, strong communication, and proficiency with Sage Intacct, Procore, and Bill.com, guiding clients toward cleaner

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Controller or CAO in a private business.
• Strong experience with construction-specific accounting and financing methods.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Procore and cloud collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close for multiple entities and automate reporting.
• Lead Financial Discovery Assessments and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate between client leadership, construction teams, and outsourced firms for expense coding accuracy.
• Develop property-level metrics and sophisticated financial models for equity partners.
• Strengthen internal controls over cash management and lien release tracking.
