Job summary

Vessel Advisors is seeking a seasoned Controller to support and report to the VP of Operations, delivering financial guidance to multiple clients in a fractional, remote capacity. You will own month-end close, oversee client financial processes, and implement best practices to improve profitability and reporting accuracy.

The role requires deep experience in construction accounting, banking relationships, and multi-entity finance management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a Controller or CAO in private business.
• Experience with construction accounting practices (PCM).
• Finance leadership in multi-entity or multi-state environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication (Slack/email).
• Experience with bank draws, construction financing, and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close for multiple entities and automate reporting.
• Lead financial discovery assessments and cleanup initiatives.
• Coordinate between client leadership, construction teams, and external firms.
• Develop property-level metrics and sophisticated financial models.
• Strengthen internal controls over cash and lien tracking.
