Job summary

Ocean Science Trust seeks an Institutional Giving Manager to expand our grant and sponsorship programs. This part-time, 25-hours-per-week role is remote within California, with Mondays in-office required, through Sept. 2027.

You will build a robust grant pipeline, manage institutional funder relationships, and develop corporate sponsorship strategies. You will collaborate with program staff and finance to forecast revenue, develop budgets, and ensure timely reporting and renewals.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years experience prospecting and identifying potential sources of new corporate and foundation support.
• 4–5 years experience forecasting grant revenue and managing a pipeline with realistic likelihood and timing estimates.
• 4–5 years experience building proposals and award budgets in partnership with finance staff.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the role of science and science funding in government and OST independence.
• Track record of success in seeking, obtaining, and renewing multi-year five- and six-figure grants.

Responsibilities

• Grant Prospecting and Pipeline Building: identify new foundation and corporate prospects and maintain a living grant pipeline.
• Grants Management: manage the full grant process, forecast revenue, and coordinate budgets with finance.
• Corporate Sponsorships: develop sponsorship packages and secure partnerships for programs and events.
• Team Collaboration: work with leadership, program leads, and philanthropyDirector to align proposals and sponsorships.
• Maintain CRM records and ensure timely submission of materials for funding.
