Job summary

Haag, a Salas O’Brien company, is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer II for Miami or Fort Myers, FL. This remote/home-office role investigates structural damage from storms, fires, and design defects, coordinating with internal experts and clients to deliver defensible conclusions.

You will conduct site inspections, write technical reports, and collaborate across teams while traveling locally as needed. A PE license in FL or reciprocity is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team of experts.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must provide excellent customer service to clients.
• PE license or eligibility preferred in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Forensic Investigations: conduct site inspections to determine cause, origin and extent of damage.
• Analysis & Reporting: produce clear, well-supported conclusions and high-quality reports.
• Client Communication: provide timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaboration & Independence: work from a home office while leveraging internal resources.
• Project Ownership: drive issues to resolution meeting standards and client expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: contribute ideas to improve processes and tools.
