Job summary

Salas O’Brien, in partnership with Haag, seeks a Forensic Structural Engineer III for Tampa or Orlando (remote/home office). You will investigate and evaluate structural damage from storms, fires, or construction defects, and deliver clear technical reports.

Requirements include 5+ years in forensic engineering, a Florida P.E. license or reciprocity eligibility, and a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of forensic engineering experience required; 5–10 years preferred.
• P.E. license in FL, or eligible by reciprocity.
• Ability to work independently with cross-functional team.
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations: site inspections to determine cause, origin, and extent of damage.
• Develop clear, well-supported conclusions and high-quality reports.
• Communicate with clients, contractors and stakeholders to manage expectations.
• Collaborate with internal and external experts; work from a home office.
• Drive issues to resolution and ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Suggest process and tool improvements.
