Haag, a Salas O’Brien company, seeks a Forensic Structural Engineer III for Tampa or Orlando in a remote/home-office role. You will investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of structural damage from storms, disasters, fires, and construction defects, and produce clear, defensible conclusions.

Qualifications include 5+ years of forensic engineering experience, a Florida P.E. or reciprocity, strong technical writing and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of forensic engineering experience (5–10 years preferred).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills required.
• Must be able to work independently and with a cross-functional team.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in FL or eligible by reciprocity.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Forensic investigations: conduct site inspections to determine cause, origin and extent of damage.
• Analysis & reporting: develop clear, well-supported conclusions and high-quality reports.
• Client communication: provide timely updates to clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Collaboration & independence: work from a home office while leveraging internal experts.
• Project ownership: drive issues to resolution meeting standards.
