Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer II for the Miami or Fort Myers, FL area. This remote/home-office role involves investigating and evaluating the causes and extents of structural damage from storms, disasters, and defects, with travel as needed within the U.S.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in forensic engineering, strong writing and communication skills, and a PE license in FL or reciprocity eligibility. Base salary is competitive with a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and with a cross-functional team of experts.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are required; customer service mindset a must.

Responsibilities

• Forensic Investigations: conduct site inspections to determine cause/origin/extent of damage.
• Analysis & Reporting: develop clear conclusions and produce technical reports.
• Client Communication: provide timely updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaboration & Independence: work from a home office while leveraging internal resources.
• Project Ownership: drive issues to resolution meeting standards and expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: suggest process/tool improvements to benefit outcomes.
