Job summary

Haag, a Salas O’Brien company, is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer in the Minneapolis, MN area. This remote/home office role investigates and evaluates structural damage from storms, disasters, fires/explosions, defects, and accidents.

Requires a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, MN PE or eligibility, 2+ years of forensic experience, strong writing and communication skills, and willingness to travel locally and nationally. Comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of forensic engineering experience required.
• Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team.
• Strong technical writing and report-writing skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Forensic Investigations: conduct site inspections to determine cause, origin, and extent of damage.
• Analysis & Reporting: develop clear, well-supported conclusions and high-quality reports.
• Client Communication: provide timely updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaboration & Independence: work independently from a home office while collaborating with internal experts.
• Project Ownership: drive issues to resolution and ensure standards are met.
• Continuous Improvement: contribute ideas to improve processes and tools.
