Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a Fire Investigator to determine the origin and cause of fires in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role requires on-site analysis, meticulous documentation, and testimony preparation.

Candidates will secure scenes, collect and preserve evidence, conduct forensic analyses, and deliver comprehensive reports. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for client interactions and coordination with teams.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to interact with clients at all levels and communicate effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret standard scientific and legal documents and reports.
• Ability to write scopes of work, budget estimates, schedules, and technical documents.
• Ability to present information to management, clients, and boards of directors.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of fires/explosions in various settings.
• Secure scenes and preserve potential evidence.
• Conduct on-site forensic fire analysis and prepare detailed reports.
• Identify and label evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Provide technical support to clients for subrogation and litigation.
• Conduct code compliance research and participate in education sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
