Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Fire Investigator to join our Minneapolis office. You will determine the origin and cause of fires, secure and collect evidence, and perform on-site forensic analyses, preparing detailed reports for deposition and trial.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, and proficiency with MS Office and investigation tools. Occasional travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in fire investigation or related field.
• AAS in Fire Science or related field.
• IAAI-CFI or NAFI-CFEI certification pathway with ability to obtain IAAI-CFI within 18 months.
• Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions.
• Secure scenes and preserve evidence.
• Conduct on-site forensic fire analysis and prepare reports.
• Provide testimony in deposition and trial.
• Support clients in subrogation and litigation.
• Assist with code compliance research and continuing education seminars.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
