Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Investigator to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions across residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

The role involves on-site analysis, scene documentation, evidence handling, and providing expert testimony. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in fire investigation, IAAI-CFI/NAFI-CFEI certifications or progression, and an AAS in Fire Science or related field.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interact with clients at all levels and communicate findings clearly.
• Proficiency in writing scopes of work, reports, proposals and other technical documents.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Experience presenting findings to clients, management, or juries.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions for various losses.
• Secure scene to protect evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Conduct on-site forensic fire analysis, including photography, interviews, item possession, reporting, and testimony.
• Identify, collect, and label evidence; ensure evidence integrity.
