Job summary

Rimkus, a world leader in engineering and forensic consulting, seeks a Fire Investigator to determine the origin of fires and provide expert testimony. You will perform on-site analyses, collect evidence, prepare reports, and support clients in subrogation and litigation matters.

The role requires 5+ years in fire investigation, an AAS degree in Fire Science or related field, and IAAI-CFI preferred. Travel up to 50%, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must have analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical reports and legal documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients.
• Experience writing scopes of work and budgets.
• Capable of presenting findings to management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions.
• Secure scenes to preserve evidence and collect items.
• Perform on-site forensic fire analysis and take photographs.
• Prepare reports and provide deposition/testimony.
• Support subrogation and litigation with technical data.
• Conduct code compliance research on electrical/gas/building codes.
• Assist in continuing education seminars on fire topics.
• Other duties as assigned.
