Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group seeks an experienced Fire Investigator to determine the origin and cause of fires across residences, commercial facilities, and equipment. The role involves on-site analysis, evidence handling, report writing, and testimony preparation.

Travel up to 50% is required, with opportunities for growth and advancement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in fire investigation, AAS in Fire Science or Forensic Science, and certifications such as IAAI-CFI preferred.

Qualifications

• High level of analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interact and communicate with clients at all levels.
• Ability to read and interpret scientific and technical reports.
• Ability to write scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions.
• Secure the fire/explosion scene and preserve evidence.
• Conduct on-site forensic fire analysis, interview witnesses, collect items, and prepare reports.
• Provide technical support for subrogation and litigation.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
