Job summary

The Department of Ecology in Washington state is seeking a Fleet Operations Analyst (Program Specialist 2) in the Administrative Services Division, based at the Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA, with telework eligibility and a minimum of one in-office day per week.

You’ll oversee Ecology’s statewide fleet of about 450 assets, provide data analysis, policy guidance, and training to fleet coordinators, and help drive the EV transition and improved efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience and/or education related to the duties of the position, covering coordination, customer service, and policy interpretation.
  • Experience coordinating logistics, data analysis, and asset management within a public or large organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff, partners, and leadership to support operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide agency-wide oversight of Ecology’s fleet, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with DES, OFM, and internal policies.
  • Analyze fleet and commute data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for efficiency and compliance.
  • Support fleet planning, including procurement, replacement scheduling, and EV transition.
  • Serve as a resource for fleet coordinators statewide with day-to-day guidance on data standards and policy interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, training materials, dashboards, and documentation for consistent fleet practices.
  • Train fleet coordinators on vehicle use categories, utilization expectations, and CTR program.
  • Review data, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Agency Transportation & Sustainability Officer and others to implement policy updates and process improvements.
