Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is hiring a Fiscal Technician to support purchasing, documentation, and payment processes. You will help prepare documents, review purchasing activity, and maintain accounting records to keep transportation services running smoothly.

This full-time role offers 8:00 AM–4:30 PM hours with a potential telework option; you may report to the Indiana HQ if telework isn’t available.

Qualifications

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant (Commonwealth or Federal equivalent) as determined by the Office of Administration.
• Three years of work involving maintenance of fiscal/financial records with some accounting exposure; high school diploma.
• One year maintaining and reviewing fiscal records; Associate degree in accounting or business admin.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing Support: Process purchasing tasks, seek best value options, and assist district and county staff
• Record Preparation: Prepare quotes, specifications, contracts, and purchasing documents while keeping accurate files
• System Updates: Enter information into SAP to resolve issues with encumbrances, invoices, and payments
• Transaction Review: Review purchasing card activity, correct coding errors, and update records as needed
• Inventory Monitoring: Check supplies and coordinate distribution of needed materials and equipment
• Training Participation: Attend procurement training and stay current on updated policies and procedures
