Job summary

Gordon Feinblatt LLC seeks an experienced attorney to join our energy and public utility practice in Maryland. This first-chair opportunity centers on guiding high-stakes regulatory matters with clients at the center of the state’s energy transition.

The role involves leading CPCN permitting, utility rate cases, and policy initiatives before the Maryland Public Service Commission, with remote work flexibility, substantial client contact, and a growing multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • First-chair experience in contested regulatory, administrative, or judicial proceedings.
  • Maryland bar or eligible to waive into the Maryland bar.
  • 6+ years of experience in energy, environment, and public utility law.
  • Experience appearing before the Maryland Public Service Commission; practice before FERC or other state utility commissions is valued.
  • Ability to collaborate with a growing and multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Take a leading position on sophisticated regulatory work, including CPCN permitting for energy projects.
  • Handle utility rate cases and other major proceedings before the Maryland PSC.
  • Advise on regulatory and policy matters, including Commission rulemakings and legislative initiatives in Annapolis.
