Job summary

Eichleay is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in a fully remote role. You will apply fire protection and life safety design knowledge to industrial facilities, coordinating with multi-discipline teams and clients to deliver code-compliant solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong communication skills. Travel up to 10% may be required to support projects and occasional in-person collaboration with near-by Eichleay offices in the Western

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering for industrial projects.
• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Fully remote; preferred proximity to Eichleay offices for occasional in-person work.
• Experience with codes and standards (NFPA, IBC/IFC).
• Active Fire Protection PE license required; CFPS/NICET preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection and life safety design deliverables for industrial facilities (drawings, calculations, specs).
• Perform hydraulic calculations and evaluate water supply, pumps, hydrants, and standpipes.
• Coordinate fire protection with process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, architectural, and I&E teams.
• Review and prepare technical specifications and vendor documentation.
• Support design reviews, RFIs, field changes, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC/IFC, AHJ requirements, and client standards.
• Assist cross-training in mechanical scopes when needed while maintaining fire protection focus.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and contractors to meet project objectives.
• Travel occasionally to client sites or Eichleay offices (up to 10%).
