Job summary

National Fire Experts in Mobile, AL is seeking a Part-Time Fire Investigator to study fire and explosion scenes and determine origin and cause. You will prepare detailed reports and may provide expert testimony as needed.

The role requires travel within a 100-mile radius, flexible scheduling, and strong written/verbal communication, plus a commitment to ethical, client-focused service.

Qualifications

• Must have CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred).
• Must obtain Private Investigator License within 60 days where required.
• Familiar with NFPA 921 guidelines.
• Experience in fire origin and cause investigations (2+ years).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Timely field visits to loss sites to conduct cause and origin investigations.
• Provides unbiased analysis and consultation on fires and explosions.
• Field studies and research daily.
• Travel within a 100-mile radius; overnight travel as needed.
• Write and submit detailed reports in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers and provide project updates.
