National Fire Experts in Detroit, MI seeks a Part-Time Fire Investigator to study fire and explosion scenes, determine origin and cause, and prepare clear reports. Some travels within a 100-mile radius may be required, with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Must have CFEI certification through NAFI or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred).
• Must hold or obtain a Private Investigator License within 60 days.
• Must be familiar with NFPA 921.
• Must meet NFPA 1033 standards for fire investigators.

Responsibilities

• Timely field visits to loss sites to conduct cause and origin investigations.
• Provide honest, unbiased analysis and consultation on fires and explosions.
• Field studies and research on a daily basis.
• Travel within 100-mile radius from assigned office; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Write and submit detailed investigations reports in a timely manner.
• Communicate timelines and updates to NF Experts' customers.
