Job summary

National Fire Experts in Little Rock, AR, is hiring a Part-Time Fire Investigator to study fire and explosion scenes, determine origin and cause, and present findings in written reports. The role may require occasional court testimony and flexible scheduling during peak demand.

The candidate should have a CFEI/CFI certification, be able to obtain a Private Investigator License, and be prepared to travel within a 100-mile radius from the Little Rock office.

Qualifications

• Must have CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred).
• Must hold or be able to obtain a Private Investigator License within 60 days of employment (if applicable).
• Must be familiar with NFPA 921.
• Must meet all NFPA 1033 requirements for fire investigators.

Responsibilities

• Timely field visits to loss sites to conduct cause and origin investigations.
• Provide honest, unbiased analysis and consultation on fires and explosions.
• Carry out field studies and research daily.
• Travel within a 100-mile radius from the assigned office; some overnight travel may be required.
• Produce detailed, accurate reports in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers to provide timelines and project updates.
