Job summary

EFI Global seeks an experienced Fire Investigator based in the greater Birmingham, AL area for a full-time, remote role. You will conduct complex origin-and-cause investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare defensible reports for clients across the region.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree preferred, CFEI certification, and IAAI-CFI familiarity; strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, in a relevant field.
• CFEI certification required or strongly preferred; IAAI-CFI preferred.
• Will seek IAAI-CFI certification within 6 months of qualifying.

Responsibilities

• Accepts assignments for investigation of losses or claims and conducts investigations.
• Determines origin and cause and identifies third-party responsibility or subrogation potential.
• Maintains reporting commitments to clients and markets EFI services.
• Liaises between insurance industry and law enforcement/fire service personnel.
• Interviews witnesses and gathers information for a complete investigation.
• Develops knowledge to inspect public records and satisfies legal/ethical requirements.
