Job summary

National Fire Experts is seeking a Part-Time Fire Investigator to join our Memphis, TN team. You will study fire scenes, determine origin and cause, and prepare detailed reports while maintaining client communication and meeting deadlines.

The role requires travel within a 100-mile radius of Memphis, with occasional overnight turns. A strong background in NFPA standards and investigative reporting will help you succeed in this flexible, client‑focused position.

Qualifications

• CFEI or CFI certification preferred or required.
• Must obtain Private Investigator License within 60 days if applicable.
• Experience with NFPA standards (921, 1033) preferred.
• Two years of hands-on fire origin and cause investigations desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely field visits to loss sites for cause and origin investigations.
• Provide unbiased analysis and consultation on fires and explosions.
• Perform field studies and research daily.
• Travel within a 100-mile radius of the assigned office; overnight travel as needed.
• Prepare detailed, accurate reports and provide project updates to clients.
