Job summary

Rise Collective is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee accounting for a construction-focused portfolio. This remote role reports to the CFO and demands extensive construction accounting, WIP management, and multi-entity consolidation across a group of companies.

You will drive close processes, strengthen internal controls, and scale the finance function through growth and acquisitions, while partnering with leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Construction accounting experience (job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years managing an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and consolidated financial statements.
• Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple operating companies.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and schedules.
• Oversee GL, AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition and intercompany consolidations.
• Design internal controls; coordinate audits and regulatory reporting.
• Lead accounting team and mentor staff; drive process improvements.
• Partner with operations on budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions.
