Job summary

52TEN, a private investment firm, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting function and build scalable processes. This role reports to executive leadership and focuses on GAAP-compliant closings, multi-entity reporting, and investor distributions in a fast-growing environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of accounting leadership, real estate or property management experience, advanced Excel skills, and a track record of building strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Real estate or property management accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP multi-entity accounting.
• Experience leading accounting teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities and investment funds.
• Ensure accurate investor distributions and financial reporting.
• Build scalable accounting processes and strong internal controls.
• Partner with acquisitions, operations, and executive leadership to provide financial insights.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Continuously improve systems and workflows as portfolio grows.
