Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. seeks a senior finance leader to direct accounting operations, ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and enforce policies and internal controls across HIMSS and related entities.

Responsibilities include managing AR/AP, payroll, currency translation, and foreign tax compliance for international offices, while guiding auditors and senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years (full-time) experience in industry or public accounting, including experience managing remote teams and with organizations with international operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the Accounting Department related to planning, execution, and timely financial close processes.
• Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard assets.
• Manage accounts receivable aging, billings, cash receipts, and merchant accounting with oversight.
• Oversee accounts payable, POs, petty cash, employee expense reports, payroll processing, and payroll tax compliance.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for currency translation and foreign tax liability across international offices.
• Lead financial system enhancements (e.g., NetSuite, Concur, ADP) and coordinate with consultants.
• Direct audit work papers and reconciliations and provide quality assurance for interim financial information.
• Advise CFO/CEO on accounting policies and financial reporting.
