Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. seeks a senior accounting leader to drive the organization’s financial close, policy enforcement, and internal controls.

You will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, coordinate with external auditors, and oversee global accounting activities to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of full‑time experience in industry or public accounting, including managing remote teams and international operations.
• Exceptional accounting and analytical skills; proven ability to mentor accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Accounting Department with planning, execution, and timely close of monthly, quarterly, and annual processes.
• Ensure policy compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness; coordinate with external audit firms.
• Lead accounting policy development and enforcement to safeguard assets and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee accounts receivable aging, billings, cash apps, and merchant accounting under Assistant Controller oversight.
• Oversee disbursements including accounts payable, POs, petty cash, payroll taxes, and corporate payroll processing.
• Guide international offices to maintain policy adherence and currency translation / tax compliance.
