Job summary

MSS Business Transformation Advisory is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the finance function, close processes, and strategic planning. This role partners with the President/CEO and Leadership Team in a smaller, employee-owned setting.

The role emphasizes both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, including cash management, controls, and cross-functional collaboration. Remote work is offered with Phoenix-based attendance as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting and finance experience with close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, reconciliations, controls, and reporting.
• Ability to build forecasts, analyze performance, and translate findings into recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own GL and monthly/quarterly/year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit readiness.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow.
• Develop financial models and scenarios to inform pricing, staffing, and investments.
• Translate financial data into practical insights for non-financial leaders.
