Job summary

Calbright College is seeking a Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial reporting in a primarily remote environment. Under the CFO, you will manage general ledger, close processes, cash management, and audit coordination while guiding a small finance team.

This role requires strong knowledge of GAAP and public sector standards, the ability to build internal controls, and effective collaboration with county offices and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB and federal/state requirements.
• Experience leading finance teams and coordinating audits.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate day-to-day accounting, payroll, and vendor management.
• Maintain internal controls and policies over accounting functions.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Manage cash flow, banking, and fund accounting processes.
• Lead, train, and supervise Finance Division staff.
